Wrong infos about poetry genres

Recently I went through the Google search finding about the Ameri-Ku and the Neder-Ku forms of poetry. It's been a shocking experience for me that I did not find any proper or correct details about both the forms. So this article is here to inform all my readers that I am unpublishing all my Ameri-Ku and Neder-Ku poems unless I find any correct information about the both of them. The previous information about both these forms were given to me by one of my poet friends. Still I am not fully sure whether both the forms really do exist or not. I apologize for the incorrect informations.

Hmmm.....this is definitely worth the research...but there's so much to do and very little time to do it... Well, looking forward to your next post... hopefully You'll find the correct info about the poetry genres.

I too was looking or neder-ku and ameri-ku. I know one poet, Carl Harris who has poems in both forms, he can probably answer your questions. I am going to message him too because I had the same results of research. I am getting the picture that neder-ku actually is referring to subject matter, because haiku tends to be spiritual in a Zen context even while it has only the observance of nature in the actual words. The effect of the juxtaposition of the two images is generally uplifting. But it seems neder meaning down or under, the effect of the jux is definitely depressing, at least the ones I read. I hav not seen an Ameri=ku yet.
Good luck

It wouldn't surprise me if Carl did originate these 2. I think these days many forms have exactly these kinds of beginnings. I have been writing in one called "Waltz Wave" which was invented by a poet here in Houston but I found out about it on line and none of the writers who were using it were from here. It had spread well beyond its origin. But it isn't automatic, it requires that the new form offers something existing forms lack. My impression is these two forms are expansions of the haiku form in some way because Carl is one who defines haiku very traditionally and narrowly. So to use the name haiku on a poem with content besides nature would mean it isn't haiku. If the count is off by 1 syllable, its not haiku. SO to use some of the sensibilities of haiku, or the count, but not all of the requirements would make it a new form. I'm just guessing, I should have an answer soon. I'll let you know what I find.
I am collecting some of these new forms, some have only been used by a few poets. Some in my estimation are silly. But I want to try some of them myself to see how they work.
Good luck on your search as well.
Sincerely,
LT
